Gong hei fat choy! Happy Chinese New Year everyone! This year is the year of the Ox.
Today the children in Reception have been learning about how Chinese New Year is celebrated. In school we have watched, listened to and joined in with a dragon dance and then made our own dragons!
We worked really hard to colour in our dragons with yellow, red and orange colours as these are festive and lucky colours during the Chinese New Year celebrations. We concentrated really well too when we had to fold the paper really carefully to make the body of our dragons!
Some of us have also had a go at writing our names in Chinese symbols too. We tried our very best to have a go at copying the symbols really carefully and did an amazing job!
The children at home have been working so hard to find out all about Chinese New Year too! We love all of your learning children! Great job!
