Knowledge Builders

This year we have introduced Knowledge Builders to develop the children’s’ knowledge and vocabulary. The knowledge builders contain topic specific vocabulary and key facts that they will be using and learning in the classroom. Children will take home a theme and science Knowledge Builder each term. To reinforce and embed these key pieces of learning we are asking families to spend 5 minutes a few times a week discussing these words and asking your child what they know about the key facts for example: -. Which city is the capital of England?

Key maths vocabulary can be found on the website as part of the school’s calculation policy and on your child’s classroom maths learning wall. Key English vocabulary can be found on the website as part of the school’s leaflets ‘Everyday Grammar and Punctuation’ and ‘Grammar and Punctuation Year 1 and 2’ as well as on your child’s classroom English learning wall.
