On Monday the Y2 classes got to experience what it would have been like to be a pupil at Stannington Infant School during the Victorian era. The classroom was transformed into a Victorian classroom and the children all dressed up as Victorian children. The children all took part in a reading, writing and arithmetic lesson, then the girls got to take part in a needlework lesson. The children got to experience a Victorian playtime and played with accordions, skittles, hoops and sticks and hobby horses. The children all really enjoyed the experience and loved getting into character. They found school life in the Victorian era fascinating but very different.
